Harnesses

We support the use of collars and harnesses, but with so many different types of harnesses and brands around we want to make sure you’re buying the correct one for your dog. To ensure it supports them correctly and isn’t restricting their movement.

A badly fitting harness can impact the movement of your dog and create muscle and joint issues long term. Let’s talk about the harnesses and the ones the team at RDW would recommend!

Why we don’t recommend T-shaped harnesses

T-shaped harnesses restrict your dogs movement as it sits over the top of a dogs moving shoulder joint. This can cause them discomfort and pain and ultimately long term joint and muscle issues.

Why we recommend Y-shaped harnesses

A Y-shaped harness sits around your dogs shoulder joints and allows them to move freely and means it doesn’t affect the biomechanics of your dog.
