Tracey’s Wonderpup
My Wonderpup this week is Freddie. Freddie has been with us since he was a puppy and he would bark at people he didn’t know, this has been going on for a while. This week however I took him with a few others to Ipsley Fields. He is so full of energy and ball obsessed that I took some tennis balls and a ball thrower – he was in his element. We were approached by another dog and Freddie allowed him to join in, playing with the ball, but the main thing was he never barked at the owner, despite the fact that he approached me to talk. We saw a couple of other people with dogs in the field, which before now, Freddie would have started barking at, but he didn’t and just kept focusing on his ball.I am so proud of you Freddie, as this is a massive step. His recall is so good now and he just loves life and his walks!
Chloe’s Wonderpup
Penny has been such a total social butterfly this week and has had so much love for dogs great and small. When out walking she always knows where you are and keeps a loving eye cast in your direction. I am always bowled over (sometimes literally) with bountiful kisses both when she’s collected and throughout the walk. I’m so pleased with her making all these new friends with mesmeric charm.
Anna’s Wonderpup
My Wonderpup this week is Loony. I saw an amazing transformation in Loony this past week. When I first started to walk Loony and her brother Cedric, Loony was quite shy and reserved. Last week, she really came out of her shell and started to engage with other dogs a lot more. She is a fantastic travel buddy and has great recall too. Keep up the good work Loony!
Jude’s Wonderpup
My Wonderpup is Shelby. Shelby has graduated to group walks from popins this week and I was lucky enough to have him for his first walk. He was on the long line for the first 10 minutes but it was very clear that his recall is fantastic. Although he was having a great run around he never strayed too far, so the long line came off and he was brilliant for the entire walk. Shelby played nicely with the other dogs and had a great walk. I can’t wait to take him out again!
Elli’s Wonderpup
My Wonderpup this week is Paddington. Paddington is a nervous boy who gets a little frightened by other dogs. When another dog passes by, Paddington will bark and back off. Over the last couple of months, I have seen slight improvements in his behaviour. On Wednesday’s walk, another dog entered the park, I managed to distract Paddington and get him the whole way round without much hesitation at all! I was so proud and it’s great to see the hard work pay off.
Jess’ Wonderpup
Mine this week is Maisie, every week she is a total dream, she is so excited to see me. When I arrive, she shoots straight into the van! Her recall is amazing and she never really leaves my side other than to play with her friends. When I think of the first time I met her and she was too scared to come out from under the stairs, I couldn’t be more proud of how far she has come and she is such a delight to walk.
Andy’s Wonderpup
My Wonderpup is Bruce. He was absolutely perfect during his day care this week, I couldn’t fault him at all. I really enjoyed his company and having him with me all day, he’s great fun and gives lovely kisses. I think/hope he enjoyed mine too! Bruce definitely enjoyed his three walks and all the different dogs and locations we got to visit.
