It’s been a warm week, and the next one is due to be a scorcher, too! Just to remind everyone, that we of course, have to adjust our walks when the temperatures are like this. Hour-long walks will be reduced to 30 minutes maximum. We will stick to shaded areas and ensure there is water (for drinking and splashing in!) nearby at all times. We will also be starting and finishing our walks earlier in the day so as to avoid the heat. All breeds of dogs really struggle in this heat so we will ensure they’re kept cool and safe.
Here are this week’s wonderful Wonderpups …
Tracey’s Wonderpup

My Wonderpup this week is Lexi. Lexi had a problem with trusting humans and dogs when she first started with RDW. But I built her up little by little and she has improved so much! Lexi is now so good round the other dogs and has grown to trust me and accept me as a member of her gang. Unfortunately this week she had a slight cut to her carpal pad which bled a lot. When we got back to the car I administered first aid to it and Lexi just sat with her head resting against mine, not so long ago she wouldn’t have even let me touch her paw. Lexi now calmly sits on the front seat buckled in, and loves being my co-pilot. The previous week she didn’t want to be my co pilot, she decided to try her luck as pilot, (this was only allowed whilst in the field, as I had no L Plates to hand) Well done Lexi, I’m so proud of how you have matured, keep it up gorgeous girl!
Elli’s Wonderpup

I’m picking Roxie as my Wonderpup this week. She is such a lovely girl, who has come so far since I started walking her. She loves her mates, she’s so playful and friendly with everyone, and when she gets her zoom mode on, she is one of the fastest dogs I walk! This week, I took Roxie with my Tuesday afternoon gang to the woods and she was off lead the whole time, recalled to me perfectly and was just an absolute superstar!
Soph’s Wonderpup

Peggy is my Wonderpup this week! Peggy is the cutest cuddly floof that has been with RDW for 4 weeks now, I’ve loved watching her confidence grow so quickly, from the shy girl on walk 1 to Zoomie queen week 4. I have chosen Peggy this week because she is perfectly behaved every walk, she now brings lots of fun and sass to our Friday mornings and she has me in stitches watching her run circles around all the sausage dogs! Keep up the good work Pegs!
Anna’s Wonderpup

My Wonderpups this week are Bruno & Tyson. These two little boys are just the cutest. They are always eager to go for a walk and see their best mates. They love exploring new places and always stay close to me. They are like professional models, constantly posing for the best photo. I never have a problem with choosing who to hug first as they both fit perfectly in my arms at the same time!
Sally-anne’s Wonderpup

My Wonderpup this week is Paddy. Paddy is such a dude. His confidence has really come on since he first joined RDW. He is always excited to come out on walks with us and is such a little fluffy character.
Chloe2’s Wonderpup

My Wonderpup this week is Bramble. He is the cutest ball of fluff who shows me so much joy. The excitement to get in the car is so lovely to see and he is always perfect for me running about with his friends
