Have you ever thought about going on holiday further than the UK with you fur babies?
Our lovely Tracey goes on holiday regularly with her spots, HugoB & Zara and we thought it’d be great to see their journey and how they did it!

My sister, Zara and I have just returned from our holibobs in Spain, we had a fabulous time with lots of lovely sunshine 🌞
We went with our pawrents and drove through France 🇫🇷 to Los Alcázares on the Costa Calida We go every year and love it
It’s so easy, we go to the vets every three years to get a rabies jab, then 1-10 days before we travel we have to see the vet again to get our Animal Health Certificate which allows us to travel anywhere in the EU! (valid for 4 months but only for one trip).
Before we come home we have to visit a vet in the EU who gives us a worming tablet (24-120 hrs before return) and stamps our AHC and this allows us to come home to the Uk 🇬🇧 – It’s that easy!
Our pawrents drive to Folkestone, where we hop on the tunnel for 35 mins and we are whisked over to France 🇫🇷
We stop at places all the way through France, the drive is super easy on a lovely open road, we stay at a hotel in France and have some lovely walks and then go across the border to Spain, where we stop at another hotel in Spain before we get to our destination.
It’s easy to find dog friendly places and everyone comes to say bonjour and Hola to us, I think it’s something to do with the spots and they all mention “101” and Cruella!
We have plenty of stops on the way, so that we can have a walk and the pawrents can swap over sitting behind the wheel.
It might be a 3,000 mile round trip, but we love it as we see lots of new places and get to do a lot of sniffing, we spend all our holiday with our pawrents and we see the 🌞🙌
This year whilst we were away, we went to see a lovely vet lady and she officially made us Spanish, as she gave us a Spanish Pet passport, so in future we won’t need an AHC but we do travel to EU once, hoping twice a year, and it just makes it cheaper for us, so we can spend more pawket money on treats.
